About me

Happy 2017!!! Update on life!

Hi everyone!

It feels good to be back! it’s been so long! I had some crazy holidays, mostly filled with work, but also lots of changes and new projects. (Ugh and someone stole my tablet, so that makes it extra hard to stay up to date with all blogs, not just mine, but it was mostly that I had to work all through the holidays)

For those of you who don’t know, aside from a makeup enthusiast, I am a General Surgeon, and I just finished my training in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery this past December, so YAY for that!! It was also my birthday on Jan. 12th, so put those two together and that screams for new plans and projects to come!

Ringing in the New Year!

A little celebration

I am still trying to decide what I want to do next. I will continue to work with one of the fellow attendings, but I am looking forward to establishing my own practice, and perhaps doing another specialty, but I’m undecided between GI tumors or perhaps Mastology, because both attract me for very different reasons, so I have to figure that out in the next few weeks.

Doing what I love!

Also I am hoping that by having a little more freedom with my schedule I can get a lot more organized with my life in general, I need to get my research thesis done, I need to be saving A LOT of money this year, I want to look into possibly emigrating,  and I also have plans for this blog. Writing is something that I have always enjoyed, and it helps me put things in the right perspective, so I’m hoping to be able to post at least once a week, and I’ve come up with a few ideas to that end.

Here’s to a very successful 2017!!!

  1. Happy belated birthday and Congrats on finishing your training! How exciting!
Where would you possibly be interested in emigrating to?
Best wishes for 2017 – lots of new things for you, it seems!

    1. Thanks! I have part of my family in Mexico, so that would be an option. Also Chile. Both those countries recognize my degrees. If I decide to do another fellowship I have the option to go to the European Institute of Oncology in Milan. But before making my decision I’m doing some research on Australia, Netherland and Canada actually.

    1. Thanks girl! I’m toying around with a few places including Europe (Italy), Australia, maybe Chile… I also have family in Mexico, but things aren’t so hot there… we’ll see. First I need to decide what field I want to go in

      1. That’s so cool! Austrailia…. eh… you’re brave. They are supposed to have some of the deadliest wildlife in the world. Not or me, haha. Italy and Chile both sound so nice!!!
